The Army Officers' Wives Club of the Greater Washington Area (AOWCGWA) along with the AOWCGWA-Fort Myer Thrift Shop
will award academic scholarships to spouses of active-duty, retired, or deceased U.S. ARMY personnel. The applicant will be
enrolled in a full or part-time accredited certificate or degree program for the 2010-2011 academic school year. The award
will be made on the basis of scholastic merit and community involvement only. The applicant and sponsor must reside in the
Greater Washington Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area. The only exception to the residency area is coded unaccompanied
tours. THE SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE AWARDED TO THE SAME INDIVIDUAL ONLY ONCE IN THIS CATEGORY.
Those students accepting any other full scholarship may not accept this award. This award cannot be deferred to a future academic
year. However, if an applicant does not receive an award he or she may reapply in the future.

B. Have all post secondary schools, you have attended, mail OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS to the scholarship committee.
C. On a separate sheet of paper, with only your social security number for identification, list the following:
1. Institution where you are currently or will be studying in a post-secondary educational institution; program or field of study;
and expected degree or certification and date of completion.
2. Post-secondary institutions previously attended, dates, semester/ credits completed; cumulative GPA; major field of study; and
degree or certifications earned.
3. Community involvement through volunteer and/or professional experiences. Specify positions held (head of committees,
participant in programs, job titles, etc.).
4. Name, address, and phone number of advisor, if applicable.
D. On a second sheet of paper with only your social security number for identification, answer the question: How has your experience
as a military family member better prepared you for leadership? Approximately 200-300 words or 2-3 typed double-spaced pages.
E. Please complete and sign this SEPARATE Scholarship Agreement Form. (This agreement should be downloaded with the application.)
F. READABLE photocopy (front and back) of military dependent ID card
